Tailor your resume to potential employment


Industrial engineers focus on the holistic optimization of business processes, from data exchange to logistics. They work not only in manufacturing, but across many industries: healthcare, retail, IT, logistics… 

The hiring managers are likely to have only a passing familiarity with industrial engineering and may not understand the value of some of your skills. He or she will probably be reviewing your resume against a set of requirements set by the employer or using a software program to screen applications.


So make sure your resume is tailored to the position:

The first example is just facts without context, while the second example shows how the candidate added value and used skills to do so.

You can also add other details when you list your specialty. For example:

If you are applying for a job in a different city, it is not necessary to specify the location in CV.


Summary Section


While researching resume sample websites, I noticed that some sources omit this section. Yes, this section is optional. However, I recommend adding a summary with a brief description.
